The quarter-final picture is complete after host Germany has qualified as last team and will meet Canada in Cologne on Thursday night.

What a thriller on Tuesday night at LANXESS arena in Cologne! Germany and Latvia exchanged late goals with Felix Schutz tying it up for the hosts with 33 seconds left in regulation time before Frederik Tiffels scored the only goal in the shootout. That means Germany qualified as last team for the quarter-finals and will meet Canada on home ice in Cologne on Thursday night. Team USA, the first-ranked team in Group A, will also stay in Cologne and play Finland in the afternoon.

After a day off tomorrow the action will also continue in Paris with two quarter-final games, the last to match-ups in the French capital. Russia and the Czech Republic will play the early game on Thursday. Switzerland and Sweden will play the evening quarter-final.

Expect the Canada-Germany quarter-final to be sold out very soon. Tickets for all four quarter-final games can be ordered on tickets.iihfworlds2017.com.
