The Czech national team has been joined today by St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Sobotka.

The 29-year-old centre is set to play his third IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship after 2014 in Minsk, Belarus, and 2015 on home ice in Prague.

Sobotka finished his third season with KHL team Avangard Omsk and then went on to join the St. Louis Blues for the rest of the season appearing in one regular-season (one goal) and in 11 playoff games (two goals, four assists).

Once Sobotka will be formally registered, the Czechs will have two goaltenders and 21 skaters on their World Championship roster leaving spots open for one more goalie and one more skater.
